You Have A Purpose.

God didn't save you to lose you. In other words, God has a purpose for you because you're not saved to be idle, but to serve His purpose and to serve in His Kingdom. Not your "kingdom," not your purpose, but His. So ... every person from every social or economic stratum, every educational background, every ethnic group, and every family background ... every single person has a calling to serve. This is true for all people, saved or unsaved. Right? Every Spirit-filled believer, born again child of God has a specific God-ordained purpose. All EXCUSES for shying away from this purpose pale in light of the enabling power of Jesus Christ. People have so many excuses about and for anything and everything, don't they? I digress.

Did you know that even a sinful past doesn't exclude or disqualify someone from discovering their purpose? So, consider the Scriptures that give plenty of evidence of those whom we would have expected to fail, but instead who overcame their sinful past. Here are a few. See if you can name them in your mind as you read the following examples:

  1. An adulterer and murderer became a man after God's own heart. Guess who? David. You guessed right.

  2. A liar became the father of the faithful. Survey says ... Abraham.

  3. A man who denied Jesus Christ, not once or twice, but three times by the courtyard fire just days later proclaimed that Him Lord of all at Pentecost. That man is ??? Peter. Wow.

Understanding that you have a purpose in God's Kingdom, is only the first step. You should not ... I repeat ... should not remain idle while awaiting orders from God. There's a thought that believes: "when the environment is right" or "when God wants me, He'll tell me." Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. That thinking is extremely flawed. Here's why: if you have received the gift of the Holy Ghost, He has already clearly informed you by saying, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8).

You should seek actively for God's specific purpose for our life. You faithfully serve in any and all capacity, and God will reveal it to you. Furthermore, you can accomplish this by listening to His voice: Bible reading, preaching, teaching, praying, etc. Having daily communion with Him in private devotions and public worship services, and heeding the counsel of your pastor.

We, who would be leaders, must actively pursue ... intently ... God's will for our lives. Any individual who continually makes empty promises will never, ever discover the will of God. Period. So, your purpose awaits you. Your purpose awaits you. Read that again. Purpose awaits every individual and each one must seek to find it.

You're responsible for fulfilling God's purpose. Once you find it, you must fulfill it. You will enjoy abundant life as you fulfill God's purpose in your life.

Thanks for reading. May the Lord richly bless you.
