Knowledge Is Power

Just about every individual has some kind of possession that's extremely valuable to them. Perhaps, it's more than one possession, but several cherished keepsakes, family heirlooms, and just overall expensive things. Have you ever considered what you would take in the event of a fire or natural disaster? Sure you have. We all have. I have a list of several things that I will take in the case of an unfortunate event: First and foremost is my family, then my personal library!

Among the things we possess, knowledge should rank number one or at least at the top. If an individual has knowledge, he or she can find the resources to progress in spite of hurdles that might challenge them. If an individual has knowledge, he or she has an awareness of how to move forward when, perhaps, there's confusion in a particular situation. If an individual has knowledge, that person can easily pursue goals, both secularly and spiritually. When a person has knowledge, whatever it may be, it's a wonderful gift with numerous benefits, both in the natural and in the spiritual.

There's a common phrase that says, "Knowledge is power." You can find that phrase in the business world, leadership books/seminars, and it's posted on every social media outlet. It's everywhere. However, there's some spiritual truth found in that phrase "knowledge is power." When you have the knowledge of God, you unlock powerful spiritual truths and avenues of the unattainable. Knowing that Jesus Christ is One True God of the universe and exercising that knowledge, with faith, will empower you to have a close relationship with Him. You will unlock your purpose in Him.

The Word of God clearly proves that even the most uneducated or unlearned individual by the world's standards can gain the powerful, beautiful knowledge of God and access His wonderful power. Case in point: apostles Peter and John were labeled ignorant and unlearned men in Acts 4:13 (NLT), "The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus."

What I'm trying to convey is that earthly knowledge is not the main goal of this post. While earthly knowledge is worth pursuing and it certainly has some value, gaining the knowledge of God and His ways, not the pursuit of secular knowledge or information, is the most important possession you can ever possess. I firmly believe that God is well pleased with individuals who strive, push, press, advance, and gain in the knowledge of His Word and His Spirit. Solomon in the Old Testament and the apostle Paul in the New Testament provided solid evidence that God will choose, empower, bless, and will use that individual who actively pursues and attains the knowledge of God.

Knowledge is power, but only true knowledge connects us to Jesus Christ.

Thanks for reading. May the Lord bless you!
